beware of cancelled projects freelancer.com scam

Post by darknkreepy3# »

I would not work for freelancer.com as a 3rd party ever again. Their UI UX is quirky and full of unprofessional clients and freelancers with a wild assortment of ways visible and underhanded they will try to produce income. If you are awarded a project, the client does not have to pay and if they cancel, you are some how responsible for that?

Do not work with them, they steal from freelancers when freelancers already can barely get by. Be very cautious as the clients aren't held responsible either.

that is an online profile I will keep up and map with XML so others will not get scammed. Here is a copy of the interaction as well:
Department: General
Full Name: darknkreepy
Email:kristoffe.brodeur@verizon.net
Username: darknkreepy
Operator: Antoinette B.
18:10 Username: darknkreepy
18:10 Please wait and one of our Customer Support Agents will be with you shortly.
18:10 Antoinette B.: Hi, this is Antoinette. Welcome to Freelancer.com Support Desk.
18:10 You are now chatting with Antoinette B. (CX Specialist - Live Chat Support). Let us know if our Customer Support Agent assisted you well by answering the survey at the end of the chat.
18:10 Antoinette B.: How may I assist you today, Kristoffe?
18:10 darknkreepy: I am going to cancel my account. your company tried to charge me $16 for a job I never got, and the client never got back to me.
18:10 darknkreepy: here is my ticket #
18:11 darknkreepy: JBJ-264-69967
18:11 darknkreepy: I will also write a review online about this so other people will find it on social networking and google search with some keyword searches and postings.
18:11 darknkreepy: your policy of collecting money from an unmanaged job and unresponsive client will not go unseen by the online community.
18:11 Antoinette B.: Our records show that you have accepted the project "Pickup or Deliver Something" (ID: 12543198) last February 19, hence you incurred a 16.60 USD project fee for it.
18:12 darknkreepy: it was my first and only job i responded to. it is a scam.
18:12 Antoinette B.: Once a project has been awarded and accepted by a freelancer, both employer and freelancer would be charged immediately for project fees.
18:12 Antoinette B.: As a freelancer, for every project awarded to you, you will be charged 10% of the fixed project price or 5 USD, whichever is greater as a project fee.
18:12 Antoinette B.: To know more about our fees and charges, please refer to this link:
https://www.freelancer.com/feesandcharges/

18:12 darknkreepy: nope.
18:12 darknkreepy: not a chance in the world
18:12 Antoinette B.: Since this is our scheme for fixed price projects and you do not want to be charged outright for the project fee, I suggest you work on hourly projects, so project fee will be levied on each payment made by your employer to you.
18:12 darknkreepy: iam not working with your scam company
18:12 darknkreepy: and i am copying this entire conversation
18:13 Antoinette B.: May I ask why did you accept the project if your employer is not responding to you?
18:13 Antoinette B.: Just to remind you, when a project is awarded to you, you are given 36 hours to think whether to accept it or not.
18:13 Antoinette B.: You should use that time to communicate with the employer first before accepting the project.

18:13 darknkreepy: and others in the internet community will not fall for this process of stealing. no transaction went through. no monies were awarded.
18:13 darknkreepy: no, just to remind you, there was no job awarded.
18:13 darknkreepy: "if you want to do this" in broken english
18:14 darknkreepy: so, good luck with your scam company stealing from clients and freelancers
18:14 darknkreepy: your jobs are also unorganized and very poorly documented.
18:14 Antoinette B.: Aren't you aware of our policies?
18:14 darknkreepy: your business model is partially generated by stealing from people in this type of occurence. no job? and no pay? and you think you can charge people.
18:14 darknkreepy: laughable.
18:15 darknkreepy: your policies were not in writing in the project nor was it actually agreed upon.
18:15 darknkreepy: so, again, good luck on that.
18:15 Antoinette B.: I believe you have agreed to our Terms and Conditions when you signed up on our site, right?
18:15 darknkreepy: you can either refund the amount of $16 or cancel the account.
18:15 darknkreepy: that is your only choice.
18:15 darknkreepy: you mean correct, but I will forgive your grammar.
18:15 Antoinette B.: Please go to this link to know more about our fees and charges: https://www.freelancer.com/feesandcharges/
18:16 darknkreepy: not interested in your link
18:16 darknkreepy: either refund the amount in the account or delete the account presently.
18:16 darknkreepy: your choice
18:16 Antoinette B.: You should always read everything written before agreeing to it.
18:17 Antoinette B.: Project fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome.
18:17 darknkreepy: i am not interested in your opinion.
18:17 darknkreepy: either refund the amount or delete this account.
18:17 Antoinette B.: However, it shows that the said project has been canceled by Inspectionag20.
18:17 Antoinette B.: Please give me a moment to see what I can do for you.
18:17 Antoinette B.: You cannot close your account if you have a negative balance in it.
18:18 Antoinette B.: I'll be right with you. Please wait.
18:18 darknkreepy: you can let it sit there as long as you like then
18:22 Antoinette B.: Thanks for waiting.
18:23 darknkreepy: ok
18:23 Antoinette B.: To assist you further with your concern, I will be forwarding your ticket ID: JBJ-264-69967 to the relevant team who handles the project "Pickup or Deliver Something" (ID: 12543198).
18:23 Antoinette B.: Please wait for their response on the mentioned ticket.
18:24 Antoinette B.: I do apologize I could not be more help to you. However, rest assured that your concern will be addressed on the said ticket.
18:24 darknkreepy: i just chose to use this account as an online profile to warm people about freelancer. so enjoy having it up. it will make sure your sales and profits go down even a bit.
18:25 Antoinette B.: Do you have any other questions?
18:25 darknkreepy:https://www.freelancer.com/u/darknkreepy.html
18:25 darknkreepy: you should really review that. it is going live now. I am xml mapping it to google and a few sites.
18:26 darknkreepy: so treat people professionally and don't try to steal from them with jobs that were cancelled and clients that did not follow protocol.
18:26 darknkreepy: in the end, people will be aware of your basic underhanded policies to make money. it sucks, but it is all about how you act in business.
18:26 Antoinette B.: I suggest that you wait for now since I have already forwarded your ticket to the relevant team.
18:28 darknkreepy: sorry, already waited 24 hours. so, if they respond, great. I am a busy person making actual work happen. Freelancer.com was just an experiment,a side note, and I was leery and obviously for good reason. I knew just by the UI UX and the people posting it was a really shaky project system. Now, it is permanent to me.
18:28 darknkreepy: I am going to copy and post this, thank you for your time. have a good day.
